Happy Friday eve, y’all! And welcome to September!
Though it’s still 90+ degrees out, I’ve got Fall Fever fo-real. I’ve already spent wayyy too much time pinning things to my Fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving Pinterest boards. Give me all the pumpkin things RIGHT. NOW.
As we usher in September, we are preparing ourselves for a big month! Labor Day weekend will see us celebrating birthdays, {hopefully} getting a little kayak time in, and if all goes well- boat AND wiener dog races! Next weekend, we’ll be traveling to Lufkin, Texas, for the first time to hang out with my ol’ pal Diva. Later in the month, we’ll be participating in the local Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 5K for which I’m captaining a team from work. Rounding out the month, we’ll be heading back to Sweet Home Alabama for a wedding of an old friend of ours, as well as some quality time with friends and family! Like I said, all kinds of fun things going on, and football every second we get.
I just finished explaining to Seth how August is probably my least favorite month of the year and always has been. Unfortunately, I let that get to me on my August goals as you can see below-
August Goals
1. WRITE 15 BLOG POSTS.
- Including FINISHing our Ireland journey.
– I swear I’m going to finish this… hopefully tomorrow!
2. AT LEAST 30 CONSECUTIVE MINUTES OF ACTIVITY EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. WALKING, RUNNING, PLAYING FRISBEE, KAYAKING, … SOMETHING.
– Probably the goal I’m most disappointed in myself about…
3. FINISH THE BOOK I’VE BEEN READING FOR A YEAR NOW.
(DISCLAIMER: IT HAS BEEN QUITE BORING, BUT I’M DETERMINED TO FINISH IT. THANKFULLY, I’M WITHIN 100 PAGES OF THE END, AND THE PLOT HAS GAINED MOMENTUM.)
-WOO HOO! Not only did I finish The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling that I’d been trying to read for a year (really disappointed by that book. Snooze alert.), but I also finished Ladies Night by Mary Kay Andrews! Still haven’t chosen my next book yet; I’m trying to catch up on blogging.
4. ACCOMPLISH RUNNING 2.5 MILES WITH NO WALKING BREAKS.
–If I’m going to attempt this half in November, I’ve got A LOT of work to do!
5. PREP FOR AND HOST A SUCCESSFUL, ENJOYABLE BABY SHOWER!
-Can I blame this particular goal for my lack of concentration on other goals? I worked so hard on the baby shower this past Sunday! I think it turned out wonderfully and am so proud of the effort towards that project.
Now… for the September Goals:
I’ll continue with the 3 August goals that I did not achieve, because I’m no quitter. Plus 2 more.
-
Write 15 blog posts.
-
At least 30 minutes of consecutive minutes of activity every day.
-
Accomplish running 2.5 miles with no walking breaks.
-
Raise $200 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as I prepare for the 5K.
-
Eat out a MAXIMUM of 10 times.
-I’ve really become far too lax on the junk I put in my body. Ten times is still more than one should, but we will be traveling several times this month, so I think there will be times I can’t avoid it. Too bad I ate out for breakfast this morning, though so… 1 down and only 9 to go!
What about you? What goals do you have in mind for September? I’d love to hear about them and help cheer you! Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time…
Happy travels my goal digging friends!
